Our designers, we love you. <3

It’s delightful to notice that the quality of submission we’re getting for the EU competition is getting better and better. Unfortunately it’s the nature of laFraise that when the general quality rises so does the bar for getting your design approved and noticed. Sometimes this bothers me a bit because I want our designers to know that their work and contribution is much appreciated.

Since I just don’t have the time to contact each designer individually even if I wanted to I’d like to give credit to six of them right here on the blog. Tillieke, SoundAndVision, pressplayontape, fatboyjim, PsyKopaT and ALIADOTONY – your shit is rocking! Keep up the good work.

Also a pack of other contributing designers deserves to be mentioned here. Your time will come later. I will continue to point out designers and their work from our voting system every now and then even if it didn’t quite make it to a laFraise shirt yet.

Friday game : How to survive the holidays?

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-28 at 16:02

Just like I told you a couple of blog entries back, I pretty much always start feeling blue during the Christmas vacation. I’ve been told it’s kind of a common problem really. Drinking and partying out is my usual way of solving that issue but it’s not probably the best one there is – Sure, doing that takes the edge off for a little while but when the night and the hangover the next day is gone the stuff you tried to escape is right there again.

So, today’s Friday game is….

"How to survive the holidays"

a 10 step guide for an urban young adult.

Your task is to write the guide. It doesn’t have to be anything massive and honestly I’m not expecting too many people to participate today. You’ve got until midnight (GMT) today and the winner gets enough brouzoufs for a free t-shirt from our selection (shipping included).

Have fun with it!

New winners

I promised you one more winner before the year is over and here it is – Chirp’s “Butterflies in my stomach.” Personally I think the design is a real treat and I’m going to make sure I’m the first one in line when these come out. Still not sure about the white shirt though and will have a little conversation about that with Chirpster. What do you think? White or something else? In the end it’s his choice though but we can always try. ;)

Also the frenchies, namely our dear Sophie actually, have picked really nice winners this week and I’m pretty excited about these too.

If you want to see more details on these, check the French blog.

Oh yeah, we've got a couple of slogan winners too. Here they are. Both get enough brouzoufs for a t-shirt from our selection - shipping naturally included.

I'm not weird, just "more than normal"

Jesus was gay. I mean, happy.

A bit offensive? Sure, but this is what you voted for. :)

The EU blog is back!

Christmas is over, thank god. I didn’t want to be a bastard before it by stating that I don’t really like the season at all. For me Christmas represents many of the things in life I can hardly bare; loneliness, anxiety, pretending to be a happy camper when I’m not and trying to muffle all these feelings by whatever means necessary. Well, since I’m single, almost 30 and a finn I usually start the process by drinking until I’m numb enough not to care about anything at all. This year that shit lasted for 2 days and the recovery took another 2.

Any more chocolate and I'll burst!

Enough about that though. I think it’s just about time to get back to blogging about laFraise things; We’ve got a new shirt, I’ve got a new EU winner and a couple of slogan winners. Also the Friday game is coming up in less than two hours.

Please note that most of our crew is on a Christmas vacation. Getting your brouzoufs after winning the Friday game will take some time, getting a reply to your emails may seem hard and the blogs aren’t as active as usually.

I’m still here though. Drop a few lines on the comments and you’ll get an answer. :)

Advent calendar #24 & Merry Christmas!

The last advent we’ve got to offer is “lol boy” by beyond the chuch'.

Merry Christmas everyone. Enjoy the company of you loved ones, eat a bit too much, light a few candles, put on either Jarre or Vangelis record, find the comfiest recliner in the household, put our feet up and take it easy.

In less than an hour I’m going to sitting in a table with my family eating moose stew. Awesomeness.

Oopsie-daisy. It seems like our publishing system doesn’t really love me today. The post scheduled for 1pm today had vanished into thin air and I’ve doing some last minute shopping & gift wrapping here – so, I just noticed the whole thing.

Anyway, the second to last advent shirt is Jebs’ “Zic.” This design is available as a t-shirt and as a hoodie. Both are discounted and it seems the stock is running pretty low on the hoodie. Runrunrun and you’ll still get yours.

No. Don’t run. Take it easy. It’s Christmas tomorrow.

Just a brief note

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-22 at 16:06

As you probably noticed the pics on the EU blog aren't really showing at the moment. Sorry about that - it seems like a server crash here in Finland and my service provider is most likely preparing for Christmas already. Hopefully the server boots itself after a while.

Bunny, in case you're reading this do something about it! :D

Today you get a pack of designers for the price of one and even the price is discounted. “Ze Kalendar” is a cooperative design by theoze, pagan, conker, casajordi, LAST, cuypi, apy, playmoO, hypermoi, veuch, draco, nesk and missbean – saying all these names in a row feels like walking through the laFraise hall of fame. Together they’re… welll… ZEKALENDAR. :)

Check out Ze Kalendar itself in Conkershop, by the way.

Disturbing gingerbreadmen

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-21 at 20:02

Yesterday I was making gingerbread with my friend Pinkki. She’s a real Christmas person (while I really am not) but needed some slight guidance. I’ve been making gingerbread houses for quite a few years now and promised to help her with that stuff. It all started in a really innocent way but somewhere along the decorating process stuff started going horribly wrong.

Well, see for yourself…

Pinkki is to blame here! It wasn’t me!

I was supposed to make a X-wing out of gingerbread but didn’t have the time for that last night. Hopefully I get to do that during the weekend. It would be nice to post a few photos on the 24th.

Friday game : Who’s that Santa?

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-21 at 16:00

Mad Photoshop skillz! Uh, then again maybe not. Well, the game today is pretty obvious if you check out the picture.

9 celebrities are hiding behind a Santa mask and your task is to identify them. The fastest user to do that is the winner and in case none of you get all of them right before the midnight (GMT) Cinderella’s carriages will turn into a pumpkin. No, wait. That wasn’t it! Ok, if none of you get all of them right before the midnight the user with the most right answers will be the winner.

Once again, the winner gets enough brouzoufs to his/her user account for a free t-shirt from our selection (shipping included). Have fun!
