Dont’ see, don’t hear, don’t speak

Cartoon violence is always a whole deal of fun and even though that sounds somewhat gruesome it seems like this isn’t just my opinion. Our newest shirt “Sanzaru” was released just yesterday and the stocks are already running fairly low. So, in case you want one of these the time to order is now – not tomorrow. Acka definitely knew which buttons to push and which body members to cut of to attract the attention of our community!

Today’s advent shirt is for princesses only. Well, maybe also for the princes that try to win their hearts over! “La princesse au petit poids” by Schnucki Putzi is for the girly girls – gotta love pink.

Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way

Good morning dear community,

I’m feeling kinda lousy because lately I haven’t had the time to write about anything else than official stuff. Christmas is supposed to be the season for taking it easy and relaxing but for a freelancer it’s the busiest time of the year – everyone wants their stuff done before they put their slippers on and start cooking the ham, turkey or whatever the traditional main dish is in their culture.

Hopefully you all can take at least a few days of during the season. Personally I’m planning on shutting down the computers for the 24th and the 25th. That would be something I really haven’t done in quite a while and it would probably be a nice idea. We’ll see how that goes though – getting used to being always online can be a bit addictive.

I’m looking forward to the Christmas eve already. In my family it’s a tradition that my grandmother cooks us the nicest moose stew and my aunt brings the mushroom salad. Both of these dishes are simply delicious and as you know I’m an eater. ;)

I’m pretty sure Tom Petty didn’t have Last’s “Chute Libre” on his mind when he wrote this song. Still, with my weird sense of humor linking these to two things together seems appropriate. Especially the final line of the lyrics suits the mood; “I'm gonna free fall out into nothin', gonna leave this world for a while.”

Let’s not be grim though. Christmas is coming up and this little delight is our 19th advent shirt – enjoy!

“Last night a DJ saved my life…” Sing-a-long!

Today’s advent shirt is… *bass* *bass* *drumroll* *bass* Yup, you guessed it; “DJ Shout” by PsyKopaT. It’s not once or twice a DJ has saved my life (well, at least the night) by playing just the right tune and it’s only fair to celebrate that with this shirt. Support your local DJs, support the scene – vinyl never dies!

Weekly EU slogan winners #1

Just like we announced on our latest newsletter now's the time to get busy with the slogans again. Each week two slogans from the competition will be selected, printed on buttons and handed out to our customers with their orders for free. What do you mean "what's in it for me?" Well, you've got a point there! In a way our slogan competition is an ongoing friday game; each winner gets enough brouzoufs for a t-shirt from our selection (shipping included). I will announce the new winners each monday (…and yes, I do know it's tuesday today) from now on. This really goes without saying but it's fun, easy and anyone can participate in a matter of seconds. Check it out; submit, vote and win!

Christmas is the season for taking it easy and loving the people around you. Therefore the first two winner slogans are as follows:

"I love <place your name here>"

By poulet

"Your mama loves me"

By CloverLeaf Design

Spread the love. <3

New EU winner - “Ego-logic” by Doubidou!

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-18 at 08:58

Announcing the new EU winner is way overdue (like many things really – Christmas time is very hectic!) but here it comes; I’m very happy to tell you that “Ego-logic” by Doubidou will be seen on 500 laFraise t-shirts in a while!

The style of the design is pretty straight and honest. The curve ball is the idea itself which is very clever. Doubidou has put together a somewhat sarcastic message using the chemical elements – this is something you might want to get for that friend of yours with a brand new monster SUV. Those things must be good for something. Killing the planet for boosting your own ego if nothing else, I suppose.

Besides this design there will be one more EU selection made this year. The amount of new submissions has been pretty steady but during the last couple of weeks it’s been decreasing slightly. It would be great to see some more stuff here even though I do realize that also our designers must be pretty busy during the season. Remember that nothing really melts the Christmas dinner off your waistline like relaxing with a sketchpad. With some luck and good behaviour Santa might even bring you a new Wacom pad to play around with.

Even though 2008 is still a couple of weeks away it’s probably the right time to announce this; we will start the new year with a special competition here on laFraise EU. The first ads are already out and more information will be announced right here right after midnight on 01.01.08.

A new shirt about… well, uhh… I dunno really

From Jouni_crew, on 2007-12-18 at 07:36

To be quite honest I can’t figure out our newest shirt myself – it looks cool and I love it but it’s very French indeed and the tool I depend on with these (Babelfish) only came up with random gibberish when I tried to translate the sentence. So, any frenchies out there to help me with this one?

"Parle moi a mon tee" is designed by cuypi – one of my very favourite laFraise designers. Even though I’ve got no idea of the text itself this is cool enough to buy – well, for me at least. It also helps that it's printed on a colorful shirt. Dress to impress!

Today’s advent shirt is ”French People” by swampfactory. We’re actually talking about two discounted shirts here – the gold version and the royal blue version. These go especially well with smelly cheeses, baquettes and red wine!
