Ethereal, not edgy, has always been Vanessa Bruno’s adjective.
Just take a look at her store in Paris. For Autumn 2009, though, it looks like she’s joined the urban-warrior brigade.
Opening the show were navy ribbed sweaters with military-looking gold fringe on the shoulders, worn with leather leggings and suede wrap skirts. Closing it were dresses with bodices that were Rodarte-like collages of black tulle, gold dots, and basket weave. Sandwiched in between were the sorts of colorful pieces that her legions of fans and international retailers love: a golden hammered-silk blouse and gray high-waisted trousers accompanied by a dark-green leather obi; a Lurex-shot violet dress; and a wine-red coat that she accessorized with knee-high black leather spats.

Hi! I’m Philippe Monnerie, alias mon’ry.
I have been a graphic designer for ten years and live in eastern France, which is the “no man’s land” of communication… hum, hum…

Late, but still good.

Well it’s that time, time for the 12 final designs to go head-to-head to determine the best-of-the-best.
With almost 4000 submissions, 800 of which were actually approved. You can imagine selecting just 12 was tough, very tough.
We based our decision not only on the score and amount of PreOrders but also on the communities comments, the overall quality of the design and our personal taste.
These will also be the determining factors in picking the final 15k Winner.
Thanks to everyone for their submissions and participation.
And best luck to the 12 Finalists!
Every once and awhile I keep you updated on design work I’m involved in. This time it’s a compilation of wallpapers I’ve put together based on designs from the last year or so.
20 wallpapers in all. 1920×1200 resolution.
Available exclusively at BloodSweatVector

So you think we should put together a collection of wallpapers based on laFraise designs,
make them exclusive to laFraise.com… what do you think?
The opening night selection of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival, Mary & Max is a clayography feature film from Academy Award® winning writer/director Adam Elliot and producer Melanie Coombs, featuring the voice talents of Toni Collette,
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Barry Humphries and Eric Bana.
Spanning 20 years and 2 continents, Mary & Max tells of a pen-pal relationship between two very different people: Mary Dinkle, a chubby, lonely 8-year-old living in the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia; and Max Horovitz, a severely obese, 44-year-old Jewish man with Asperger’s Syndrome living in the chaos of New York City.
As Mary & Max chronicles Mary’s trip from adolescence to adulthood, and Max’s passage from middle to old age, it explores a bond that survives much more than the average friendship’s ups-and-downs. Like Elliot and Coombs’ Oscar® winning animated short Harvie Krumpet, Mary & Max is both hilarious and poignant as it takes us on a journey that explores friendship, autism, taxidermy, psychiatry, alcoholism, where babies come from, obesity, kleptomania, sexual differences, trust, copulating dogs, religious differences, agoraphobia and many more of life’s surprises.
