Dear designers, who have yet to be inspired by our Sony Contest From Dusk Till Dawn: here are a few whispers and thoughts.
If you’ve been pondering over your interpretation of the Video or the illustration of the single, you could also “just simply” submit your creative ideas about protests and demonstrations. Everybody can literally demonstrate their own opinion – from pacifists to flower power, megaphone activists to silent protesters. Show us what you think the face of a demonstration looks like. You have time until Monday to submit your design. So, what are you waiting for? Make some noise!

Our guest of the week is already well known – it is Piu Piu, the winner of th 15K Contest. Jelka of the West Berlin Gallery interviewed her to learn more about her work, inspirations, etc.

Hi Piu-Piu, first of all congrats again on winning the 15K Contest. Would you like to introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Amandine Piu, I live in Strasbourg and I have been an illustrator for 4 years now – which means I started to orientate my work towards youth 4 years ago. (And it’s important to know that physically I’m a small woman with curly hair and a light moustache, I’m half Italian…)

This is based on an older post at Design Tut+, but I went through it recently and found some of these tutorials to be rather helpful to beginners and professionals alike.
Checkout The Top 10 Vector Art Tutorials of All Time, the only catch is you have to signup to get the reference files etc.

Possibly a little more useful and doesn’t require signup, 30 Illustrator Videos to Turn You Into A Pro.
I’m a big fan of Daft Punk, still hooked and their first and still best album “Homework” but I don’t know how I feel about this…
Big congrats to this week’s winners:

Hi, my name is Andreas Krapf, I am 28 years old and live in a small village near Würzburg (Bavaria). This past March I finished my communication design studies and have been working as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer since.

I get my inspiration from just about everywhere. That could be work from other artists, films, books, music, experiences, thoughts etc. There are simply way too many artists whose work I admire. A while back it was fantasykünstler, and h.r.giger, frank frazetta or luis royo. These days I really like tim biskup, gary baseman, jeremyville and dave cooper, to name a few.
