For the release of this great Shirt which will delight all music and mix tapes fans, we have interviewed its designer Joeone.
Hi Jeone
- Please introduce yourself to those in the community who don’t know you yet? How and why did you get into graphic design?
First of all, hello to all strawberries. My name is Joeone (Johann Brangeon) and I’m 27 years old and live on the banks of the Layon near Angers. I have been passionate about graphic arts for quite some time. I got a degree from an arts institute and after having spent a couple of years in graphic schools between Nantes and Bordeaux. I’ve been working in an agency for 5 years but I’m about to become a freelancer soon.
- Tell us the story behind “My first playlist”? What inspired you and how did you create the design? Did you have any difficulties?
The idea came out when I was listening to some music and by renewing my playlist music on an on-demand platform. By thinking back to some good memories from our laborious “Rec/play” days with our tape recorders, I told myself that there was maybe something I could do with it.
- Have you ever had a lack of inspiration? What do you do when that happens?
Of course, it would be too good not to have one! I try not to get ahead of myself and I go out to get some fresh air, I look around everywhere (net, books) and listen to some music, sometimes it works.
- Who is your favourite artist/designer at the moment? Why?
One of many: Stéphane Carricondo, one of his latest designs can be easily spotted.
I like these artists who have found a direction or style that became theirs, the ones who are timeless and inimitable.
