2 T-Shirt Designs Selected for Prints at laFraise

Space for rent

Space for rent by gnoks

We loved the unique style and colours in this design and the idea that our chest is often used as a space for advertising. We wanted to play along with this idea and take a jab at all of those brand wearing shirt fans out there. Well done gnoks!

Fisheye lens

Fisheye lens by Naolito

These days almost anyone can become a photographer. You can let out your artsy and creative sides with a snap of the camera or smartphone – now also available with plenty of lenses to suit your creativity. We got a kick out of the fisheye lens, and think our community will too – cheese!

Second place: 1 free t-shirt

Green fairies

Green fairies by Eown

Back in the day, absinth was a favourite amongst writers and its psychedelic inducing elements made for some interesting fiction. We enjoyed that reference and loved the green colour used here. A well-deserved second place.

Third place: 1300 brouzoufs

I want to fly

I want to fly by Di.Jay

Don’t we all! We were tickled by this cute idea with it’s inspiration from da Vinci. A cute design with some tough competition this week.

overtherainbow

Over the rainbow by Vinsse

He’s back with his design and killing t-shirt ! A murderer Bear … Scared ?

Hi Vinsse, what a pleasure to see you again!
All the same to me!

What’s the idea behind “Over the rainbow”? Were you traumatized by the Care Bears? I need some clarification

The idea is to prove the preconceived idea that a rainbow is just an optic phenomenon. I did this design to prove the truth!

Between “Oups” and “Over the rainbow”, death is always present … Could you please explain why?

Dying is something extremely dangerous and is a serious matter. So laughing about it is better than not giving a damn about it.

What were your favorite animés as a kid?
Nicky Larson
Le collège foufoufou
Dragon ball
Les cités d’or

And the best of the best: Ulysse 31

Interview with Naolito

regicide

Regicide by naolito

A perfect crime scene with this chess design t-shirt. Naolito tells us more …

Hi Naolito, nice to see you around again!

What’s the story behind “Regicide” and how did you get the idea?

I always loved this word, a word that defines the killing of just one type of person simply has to be interesting. I’ve wanted to make a design about it for a long time, so when I got this idea, it came back home fast and I finished it in 2 hours. That’s why this is one of my favourite designs.

I remember a shirt with a chess match from you, do you like chess that much?

I love chess, but I’m probably the worst player in the world. If you have never won a game of chess, play with me, I’ll make you happy.

Do you play chess?
I suck at chess, but yes, whenever I have the opportunity, I enjoy a game.

Would you like to have been a detective?

The only blood I can see is the painted kind.

Do you like crime thriller books?

Not so much, but I used to watch that TV show about investigations into rich people killing other rich people for money. They always get caught, funny show!

Could you draw us your interpretation of Indian Summer please?

When music comes from the water,
there are two great laFraise prints to prove it.

Moon song

Moon song by expo01

First selection for expo01! Congrats to this design that starts out our watery music theme! We loved the mix of moon, music and moving water. A unique shirt that we are sure will be a hot seller :)

Ocean orchestra

Ocean Orchestra by Vinsse
I don’t know how it is for you, but when I look at this design, I can hear Beethoven. We were impressed with the lighting and shadow work and the magical power in the design. Well done Vinsse!

Second place : 1 free t-shirt

New Hair Cut

New hair cut by randyotter

It’s a fact, “we are deeply in loooooove with randyotter” was a quote heard during our selection meeting. I can’t share in the ladies’ love, but we certainly all enjoyed this design!

Third place: 1300 brouzoufs

You are fat 32

You’re fat 32 !!! by mAxrey

We liked the USB sticks, but the hard drive and the typography weren’t convincing enough for us.

Congrats to the winners and thanks to all participants!

PS: For the curious who wondered how we could miss this one
unfortunately, it was already selected on another platform :(

Interview with Lemerou

nudist

Nudist by Lemerou

A funny t-shirt at laFraise with its naked eggs .. What a shirt .. Explanations from Lemerou.

Could you please introduce yourself to those who don’t know you? How and why did you start with graphic design ?

Are you sure? Well I am Lemerou and I love to create t-shirt designs, this passion just came one day when surfing on laFraise.com during the time of Patrice and since then this passion hasn’t left me. I’m 100% self-taught.

What is the story behind “Nudist” and how did you get the idea?
It is an old story, not at the beach… Was just by watching a fried egg …I’m a big fan of eggs, a bit like a brand of myself.

Are you voyeur or exhibitionist? :-)
I would say curious :-)

Omelette or boiled egg?
I am a big fan of eggs so boiled egg for sure!

Nudism or naturism?
A bit the same, isn’t it? I am chaste so I always keep my shell on. J

Girls on the beach, which one do you prefer: bikinis, one piece bathing suit or topless?
I would choose topless to avoid the tan lines J

Could you please draw your interpretation of Indian summer?
Enjoy!!! Kisses!

insertcoins

Insert coins by TED BOUNDY

A fun shirt with this duck going to the arcades. A french humor lesson with TED BOUNDY and a 100% laFraise shirt.

Hi Ted, glad to see you around again!
Hi it’s always a pleasure to be on laFraise!

What is the story behind “insert coins” and how did you get this idea?
I do not know exactly how I got the idea but I had the sentence “insert coins” running through my head for quite a long time. It comes from these fateful years in high school with a very minimalistic budget and “insert coins” was a cruel dilemma.

Which arcade games do you like the most?
I must admit that I am a bit old school and I have spent lots of “coins” playing baby foot or pinball, much more as arcade games. For old folks like me, I have a memory of “Metal slug”, something heavy with grenades and bazookas, things like this. As for pinball, I sweat buckets playing “corvette” & “attack from Mars”.

Here is a link to some pinball stuff:

YouTube Preview Image

Have you ever played in a casino?
Yes during holidays with my small coin bucket trying to find the right machine. But I practice more in the cake aisle in the little “casino” (Casino is a supermarket in France). And no jackpot so far!

Could you please draw your interpretation of Indian summer?

Two designs chosen for PRINTS at laFraise

Unfaithful

Unfaithful by lupo20000

This t-shirt design is both funny and cute. We also think it will work pretty well on a shirt. The expressions and situation have an immediate effect and we’re fans of coffee.

Requiem for a tree

Requiem for a tree by Mlle Karensac

We like the idea of having a one-colour design back in the winner’s circle. Poetic and cute at the same time, this design is also full of detail. And we’ve always had a special place in our hearts for dedications to Mother earth.

Second place: 1 free t-shirt

Démasquée

Démasquée by scroluna

Always good to see designs from the duo scro and pandaluna, but this time we thought that the idea was not as clear as it could be.

•••

Third place: 1300 brouzoufs

The wood with dragon tattoo

The wood with dragon tattoo by xiaobaosg

Really, really nice illustration from xiaobaosg, but a bit to much of an illustration than a t-shirt design.
