Special Contest: Japan!

Our next special contest takes place in the land of the rising sun. Well, not exactly, but that’s where we’re sending your imagination!

We want to have a contest that includes anything Japanese that you think belongs on a t-shirt.

Sumo wrestling, kimonos, cherry blossoms, Japanese characters, sushi, geishas, manga, karaoke, judo, karate, sake, samurai, … and so much more!

We don’t want to give away too much, your imagination can take it from here.

The contest starts on 18 February 2013, but that shouldn’t stop you from brushing up on everything Japanese. Read about its history, watch manga, go out for some sushi!

Special Contest: My first band t-shirt

From Katinka (Crew), on 2013-01-31 at 08:00

Special Contest: My first band t-shirt

Imagine you’re in a band. You’ve sorted out your practice space in your uncle’s garage, mothers complain about your music, and the groupies …! They’re all over you!

What else do you need?

That’s right, you need to make a visual impact with your stylish cover art! And you need band t-shirts. Cool ones.

There is no better way to bring your band among the masses than getting your fans to wear your band t-shirt around. It’s the key to your success. Band t-shirts often have cryptic symbols, DJ t-shirts have retro typography from the 80s. Lasers. Lips. Glasses. Neon. You know what we’re talking about.

Album cover art is just as important – it’s the difference between people picking your album out of the racks.

So, if you had a band, what would your t-shirt or album cover art look like? Simple typography? A masterpiece of symbolic double entendre? We want to see what music will inspire in your art!

Here’s your chance to try your hand at cover art and band t-shirt design … and win €1,500!

The following rules apply:

-          Vector designs are limited to 12 colours and please do not use gradients

-          The design must not be running in another contest

-          Parodies of existing band art/t-shirts will be rejected

You can also submit designs that are created with a pixel-based program (e.g. Photoshop).

If your design wins, we reserve the right to print with screen printing (transfer) or digital printing, depending on the quality.

The contest starts on Monday, 4 February 2013 at 3:30 pm CET and designs can be submitted from then until 18 February 2013 at 3:30 pm CET. Voting will continue a further week until 25 February 2013 at 3:30 pm CET.

More information & rules of the contest can be found HERE!

Rock on!

Special Contest: Fairy Tales & Scary Fails

From Katinka (Crew), on 2013-01-17 at 08:00

Special Contest: Fairy Tales & Scary Fails

This contest will take us into the wild and crazy world of fairy tales. We’re looking for fails and tales of misfortune that will turn our childhood stories into comedies of errors.

No matter how often a fairy tale is told, they all have the same elements.

A prince, a princess, little boys or girls end up in some sort of bind. Add a bit of magic and an evil twist before throwing in a happy (or the occasional sad) ending.

But what if your favourite story took an odd turn? What if your heroine broke her nose after falling out of the magic carriage and the evil stepsister fooled the prince into taking her? Wouldn’t that be more fun?

Let your imagination fly for the chance to win €1,500!

More information & rules of the contest can be found HERE

Special Contest: Fairy Tales & Scary Fails

From Katinka (Crew), on 2013-01-10 at 08:00

Special Contest: Fairy Tales & Scary Failes

Yup, you read that correctly. This new contest is all about fairy tales, but not about the ones that made it into the limelight. We’re looking for failed fairy tale figures, ones that wanted to become Sleeping Beauty, but never really had the stuff to make it.

Set your imaginations free. We want to see your craziest, weirdest and most ridiculous ideas for failed fairy tale characters!

You still have a little time to let those ideas magically grow in your heads.

The contest starts on 21 January 2013.

Enjoy!
