back to the roots: the classic selection

From Thomas (Crew), on 2013-05-16 at 15:30

Dear Fraisiens,

it’s been a while since we´ve had so many high scored designs in one week!

Surprisingly we´ve made a selection which reminds me of the early times of laFraise. To me, both winner designs already could have been famous shirts back in 2009. One look = one laugh.
Without graphic wildstyle and overflowing skillz.
That’s why we thought it would be legitimately to make a  true “classic” selection. Our congrats and greeting are going out to Ted Boundy and Yurilobo.

Today, Malo & The Whale is unfortunately not part of the 1st placed design, because we already have three of his artworks in our pipeline to go. At first they need to be released (coming within the next weeks, promised!) AdamLawless‘ design is a great one with an interesting idea in behind, but we were not quite sure if this design would be a choice for everyone of our fans.

Once again, thanks for this great week with great designs and a real tough decission!
Congrats to all participiants and keep on trying!

a tough one – our weekly selection

From Thomas (Crew), on 2013-05-09 at 15:30

The summer is coming and we do need more cool colored shirts. Fortunately our this weeks selection was pretty easy fitting to this requirement. That´s why we´re happy to announce you the following designs to our winners of the week! The first one from ifanknight is such a classic laFraise humor shirt, that we couldn´t resist. Just as you – the community did.  Very funny and pretty well scored, Dude!
The second winner design from Kreadid did catch our eyes like box of sweets and here we are with another hopefully successful print.

We really did love the styles of “Majesty” and “The Sadness Will Last Forever” and would have liked to see them on one of our shirts, but as we explained: Summer Colors first! Therefore we´re giving away brouzoufs and the fame as a nearly winner at laFraise

The eggplosion from digitalorgasm and hatchooo from temyong have been very funny too, but we do have so many egg designs, that we needed to make a break on here. ;)
But thanks to all participiants for the work and congrats to our winners!

Classic selection of the week

From Nathalie (Crew), on 2013-05-02 at 15:30

Hello to all of you,

This selection hasn’t been easy even if we had pretty obvious cool designs. First of all, we congratulate georgeslemercenaire and his design with an abyssal atmosphere that we liked. We couldn’t let “The last pi” pass away and we laughed  a lot on this one. Congrats as well to the podium winners “little joker by Donnniiie and “best friends” by Scro. Thanks again for your amazing work.

Special Contest: Make a Vintage Advert!

From Katinka (Crew), on 2013-04-25 at 10:36

Special Contest: Make a Vintage Advert!

This special contest is all about creating quirky, bizarre and amazingly beautiful ad posters. We are looking for visual advertising in the style of the 1950s or 1960s. It is completely up to you what theme you depict.

The winning design will be awarded with a prize in the amount of €1,500.

To put the cherry on the cake, the design will be printed as a limited edition retro poster!

Some possible topics for the poster are:

-          A fictive movie

-          a (fictive) invention

-          A product of general nature

Important here:   The design should have no more than 4 colours

If you don´t have an idea what we are talking about, try searching the web for examples or have a look at those famous designs!

For more information, please read our complete briefing!

We look forward to seeing your idea!

Team laFraise

To be honest: If a guy called “DigitalOrgasm” creates a design named “Black Hole” … what would you expect?  Astromen?! If yes, please don´t read any further! We´re talking about cheating on husbands in a very suhi way.To everyone who´s not very familiar with french, let me explain that this speech bubble is sayin something like  “Gosh, it´s my man!”. It´s a french word game. Of course, the Shushi thing was done a thousand times before on laFraise, but regarding the preorders and scores, there was no choice left. A “nice to know” is that Mini-Staff is a total newbie on laFraise and he rocked his first submission pretty well ;) First submission, first win. Congrats!

The “Black Hole” is a very classic design without beeing too heavy on a shirt. We´re sure it will fit pretty well in our hall of fame and it´s also a possible hoodie design, which is always a good thing.

Thanks to everyone who participated and congrats to our winners!

Solidays: a little uptade

From Thomas (Crew), on 2013-04-12 at 14:44

Hey guys!

I´d like to inform you that Solidays wants you to be inspired by the claim “In Love We Trust” but it is not necessarily needed to use this slogan for your submission.
There´s still 1 week left for you to submit and we´re quite curious about the designs to come…

For more inspiration, here are the winners of our former contest with Solidays:

older-contests

///////////////// roundup /////////////////

The Contest

- ‘In Love We Trust’ is our this years motto, but you shouldn’t use necessarily the motto itself.
It should not be specific to a particular sexual orientation and have a somewhat general nature,
so that it can also be used for future events.

- the design should mainly be usable for textile print (on t-shirts, bags, bibs). Further use will not be excluded
(i.e. for goodies).

T-shirts containing a message have been well received in recent years.
- timeless

- without reference to any event or year

- a graphic design and/or a graphic illustration of a message for the Solidays t-shirt ‘In Love We Trust’.

- 12 colours max.

- you may use Solidarité Sida’s logo

While spring is coming (now hopefully to stay) we´re coming up with a weekly selection in GREY.
Not sure if this is funny, but we have to deal with it! :) Please let me hear a big applause for our this weeks finalists!

Rockers!
