This post is fairly important to me as I have a new website up. I think we are still working out some minor bugs, but the new site is easier to navigate plus there is an integrated blog where I can throw in smaller updates, personal news, and interviews. Stay tuned for an integrated music player too.
In the meantime feel free to browse some newer works and leave a comment on the blog :)
Anyone who knows me well, knows I love Family Guy. Well Famiiy Guy creator Seth MacFarlane, has been involved with various other projects and shows but he has gone out and created a series of short cartoons only available on Youtube. Make sure to give them a watch on this slow Friday. Might be exactly what you needed :)
I know 99.9% of the people that read this blog are European or English, but if you know of anyone in the Porland, Oregon, I’m in a show Thursday 7pm PST at Lizard Lounge. Here are the full details:
Come check out RYZ at Lizard Lounge on first Thursday in Portland’s Pearl District! We will be showcasing four of our designers, and drinks and DJ Verbz will be on hand for the party. Computers will also be set up for you to have a chance to design the next shoe RYZ produces. Plus, all proceeds from purchases made at Lizard Lounge the night of the event will benefit Caldera.
Date: Thursday, April 2nd
Time: 7-10 pm
Location: Lizard Lounge, 1323 NW Irving St. in the Pearl District
Also in related news, I just put a new pair of shoes up for voting on RyzWear, you can check them out here.
Old news I know, but TJ Schiller recently won the Gold at the XGames and I was surprised when I started to get emails from fans notifying me that the skis I had designed for him were on TV.
I just recently checked out the videos, you can view his full run below…
You can see my skis for a few seconds at the end of the video, but here is another video where you can see the skis at the beginning during his run to the podium.
Anyway just thought I’d notify you guys, it’s always nice seeing my work in actuality as goes for any designer, you get rather proud of your work ;) Now guy buy some laFraise tshirts!!!!
“Usually, when a company attempts to change up the mouse it’s a purely cosmetic affair. But as any ergonomist will tell you, the fundamental design of the device leaves a lot to be desired. Unlike Cyber Sport’s recent outing, Elecom’s Scope Node retains the same basic “mousetastic” shape, but it places the laser sensor off to the left — where it would be if you were holding a pen. The company promises greater accuracy, though until the thing ends up on these shores we’ll have to take their word for it. Available in Japan for ¥6,300 (that’s about $64, Americanos).”
Might be a cheaper alternative for all those tablet-wielder-wannabes. Time will tell if it truly stands up to the test of time. Once available in the US I’ll make sure to grab one. Essentially whether or not it replaces a tablet, it looks fucking cool, very Nintendo Powerglovesque
Probably best reserved for a Friday, but a Tuesday will do.
Crank your speakers up and mess with this little web app. iDaft
Now once you’ve pissed off your co-workers, have a laugh with “I’m On A Boat” by Lonely Island
Then maybe checkout and see whats new on BSV including some new work from Cuypi and Niark1.
And maybe between pages on BSV, try listening to the ever classic “What Else is There” by Royksopp featuring Karin Dreijer, lead singer from The Knife and Fever Ray. Also make sure to checkout Royksopp’s newly released album “Junior”.
Enjoy your Tuesday, and don’t forget about the BloodSweatVector and the Lodown contests!
This is an interesting one that anyone can participate in. It’s called the Pyra:Minds project, submissions for Series 2 are currently open until March 31st. When you submit just tell them that J3Concepts sent you :) Grab the template here.
Nothing major today guys, I’m packing for Berlin (leave tomorrow) and I’m packing to move (2 days after I get back from Berlin) so things have been rather busy.
Just wanted to say great work on the last few contests. The Popdeck: Round 2 contest and the 123klan contest have seen some great submissions and I’ve had a great time going through them.
Either way best of luck with the 123klan contest and stay tuned on Monday for a new contest announcement.
In the meantime checkout the great work of Arbito and feel free to grab one of the free wallpapers, care of Nike.
