laFraise: Selection Of The Week

We´re back on track with two marvellous winner designs! First one hit the top with it´s score and preorders so there was no discussion about it!
And we´re more than happy to announce another masterpiece of black humor to our gallery: “Points Of View“. A very nice straight to the point design wich proves that less can be more and things can be fine… depending on where you are situated.

But we also like to mention our two podium winners! “Playing With Yourself” A classic fraisien comic design from ndikol which fits perfectly in our style. And this cool cat design “Possessed“which definately has to be worn on a shirt! Congrats to those:

A fun t-shirt with cute animals, that’s the newest design by ndikol.

Hi Ndikol, nice to talk to you again!

laFraise: What is the story behind “we are all the same”? Do you mean that we are the same, animals and human beings? How much time did it required and how did you proceed?

I really want to convey a message about the fight against racism with this design “we are all the same”. life is beautiful because each of us is different. :o)

Inconnu masque : Are your designs inspired by children or their universe?

Yeah, I’m always inspired to create works from the children’s books that I’ve read .. because they look cute.

laFraise: You have a refined style in your design, and what kind of designs do you like to wear yourself?

I tend to like things that look neat and clean … my room, for example, doesn’t really look like a room that belongs to a man. hahahahaha: 0) Honestly I’ve always liked things that are cute and funny like the illustrations on children’s books. That’s why I like to wear designs that have the similar style on children’s books.

laFraise: What makes you happy and what makes you crazy in life?

What makes me happy is that I can play and gather family and friends clustered together. Pollution makes me crazy because every time I go through my way of making difficult breathing.

laFraise: Have you already been on a safari? Would you love to?

I have, it was fun .. I saw animals that I’ve never seen at home. Pests like rats and cockroaches around the house sometimes annoy me so much .. Especially cockroaches, I hate their shiny body -_-

laFraise: Do you love video games? Which ones?

hahaha I really love playing video games like GTA 4. I could make a person bleed to death even with just one button …. hahahahahahaa

laFraise: What is the latest movie you’ve seen? What kind of movies do you watch?

Shootgun Love was the last movie I saw.. a Korean drama that was quite interesting. I usually like drama comedy movies, because in one movie I could laugh and cry. lol

Hi Nathalie, nice to speak to you again! ☺

Do you like dragons?
Yes, I really like dragons. Dragons are such cute and funny animals. These animals can cook without a stove or light a cigarette without a match.

Are you a smoker?
Yes, sometimes I smoke when out of the house … I’m still afraid that my mom scold if she know that I was smoking in the house.

It seems you love animals since you design unicorns, dragons, deers and such sweet things? Why do you design animals instead of something else? What attracts you most to them?
Yes I’m an animal lover, especially fat cats. Actually I also don’t know why I prefer designing cute animals instead of something else. It suddenly appeared in my mind. I just think that the animal’s design is the cutest thing and maybe that’s what attracts me the most when designing animals.

Are you engaged in animal protection?
Yes of course. I think we should be more concerned about the protection of animals. We should not hunt them; we should protect and preserve animals, especially animals facing extinction.

Is Lucifer inspired by any film?
No, it’s not. Actually I only see similarities of Lucifer with dragon heads that are spouting fire from their mouth.

What is the most amazing thing that happened to you?
The most amazing thing that happened to me is when my design was printed by laFraise. I can’t describe how happy I am. It’s really awesome.

Which fruit – except strawberries – do you like?
Honestly, I like fruits very much because they are healthy for our body. But the fruits I like most are grapes and mangoes.

Here are some fun questions from the community – they want to get to know you a bit more J

Do you like rainbows?
Yes, I like them. Because the sky looks more colourful and beautiful when there is a rainbow. Even though I have not seen any for the last 10 years.

Would you like to own a unicorn?
Yes I’d love to have one. Because I think the unicorn is a very unique animal, and if I have one, it will look very cool.

What is your favourite colour?
Black is my favourite. Like my skin that becomes blacker in this tropic weather.

Which country haven’t you visited yet that you wished you could? Why?
Germany is the country that I haven’t visited and I wish I could, because I’m the biggest fan of beer.

What don’t you like about yourself?
I don’t like it when I get insomnia. Because my body doesn’t fell refreshed when I wake up.

Mountains or Oceans?
I’d choose mountains because they offer fresh air far away from pollution.

Dogs or cats?
I choose cats - because cats are funny and spoiled animals.

How do you like to cook eggs?
I like to cook omelettes. And flipping fried eggs is also my favourite.

Do you prefer girls with long or short hair?
I prefer the girls with long hair. Because they look more feminine and pretty with long hair and I just feel like dating when she has long hair.

You are lost in the desert, what would you attempt to do?
I would do a rain dance!

Love green by ndikol

For the release of the green love green by ndikol, we’ve made this interview to get to know ndikol more and how came the idea of this nice design?

Hi Ndikol,

▪ Could you please introduce yourself to those in the community who don’t know you yet? Who are you, how and why did you get into graphic design?

My name is Ndikol. I am a graphic designer from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I’m interested in graphic design because I have loved drawing since I was a child and I want my designs to be famous across the whole world.

▪ Can you please tell us the story behind “Love green”? What inspired you and how did you create the design? Did you have any difficulties?

The story of “Love Green” is about the sacrifice a deer makes trying to protect and save nature from global warming. I was inspired by the similarity between antlers and branches. With these similarities, I made the design tell about a deer cutting off their own antlers and using them as a branch that will be planted. This design aims to encourage people to let plants grow. I fortunately didn’t have any difficulties because it purely came from my idea and I was able to tell the story of this design in my own design style.

▪ Have you ever had a lack of inspiration and what do you do when that happens?

Yes, of course. Sometimes when I’m not in a good mood, that will affect my desire to design and in the end I have no ideas. To restore my mood so I can get inspired again, I would do something refreshing like browsing the internet, watching a movie with my girlfriend, playing a game, karaoke, or traveling.

▪ Who is your favorite artist/designer at the moment? Why?

My favorite artist is Pixcute. Because he teaches me a lot about design, and he is the great designer that I have met.
