As you know, I never pass up the opportunity to break the ice with an example. I don’t expect such high quality scenes from you (or do I? … ;) but the idea is really to show that simple ideas can have great results!

Last week I did another photo shooting for laFraise, and this time I was immortalized by the French photographer Stéphane HERVÉ!

Stéphane HERVÉ is from la Bretagne in France and has lived in Paris, Los Angeles, New York and settled in Berlin last year. Over the next few weeks, you will be able to visit his website and see his portfolio “I see things” that will be a collection of all his best work (fashion, games, Nintendo, music …). If you want to get to know more in the meantime, visit him over at Facebook , or listen to his band DEAD SEXY INC, that will release their new album later this year …. If you guys love rock & roll!

A fun shirt for superheroes, we have asked for more to Pasquéoz !

What is the story behind “Free toaster” and how did you get the idea? Why a superhero toaster?

I will try to schematize all of this

2007: Fell in love in the kitchen
2011: Restoration and changes … we changed everything from the fridge to microwave to electrical appliances and well the toaster … and what does a toaster do all alone in the kitchen all day long? It becomes a superhero of course!!

So superhero + toaster = Toaster the hero … well no super toaster … a more glamorous name That’s the story, did you get it?

And who is your favorite hero?
Superman! For simple and obvious reasons Underpants / Pento© / and an incredible ability to hide his cape under his jeans when he is in Clark modus

What do you think about the grandma superhero project “Mamika” whose grandmother was shot by grandson and Sacha Goldberger?

I guess they had lots of fun doing it, him and his grandmother, and I kind of like it!

Two T-Shirt Designs Chosen for Prints at laFraise!

Yet another imaginative and beautiful illustration from MrWayne will make its way to laFraise. This moon rider is performing the well-known Tre Flip high above the rooftops – a dream for any skater. We loved the colours and use of negative space and think this graphic t-shirt design will be a favourite!

Super toaster by pasqueoz.

Super toaster to the rescue! We were really amused by this design, an original take on super heroes. You can almost hear the theme music – a mix of pings and toasty sounds. But, as we all know, a toaster is only as good as the length of its cable.

We liked the colour scheme and characters in this collection of suitcase personalities. It wasn’t enough to convince us for a print, but a valid and deserved 2nd place in this weeks contest. Congrats RecycledWax!

The man sitting on the bench was what first caught our eye, even though the gorilla takes up much more space. We liked the style of the banana-eating mustached man – which gave this design its 3rd place on the podium. Perhaps re-working the gorilla could do the trick with this design.

The new and fun t-shirt at laFraise presented by Pasquéoz. Let’s learn more …

What’s the story behind “Oops”? What inspired you – Britney? The brown colour kind of confused us …

For the story, Oops is an old design that has never been selected (until now!). Even though I am a huge fan of Britney ……. (and see I have written more than 3 points to enhance the irony), the idea didn’t come on its own (Even if I know that deep inside, my gestures are somehow guided by a Britney song …..), nope the basic idea was to play with the colour of the t-shirt. And after some retouches, here we are! :-)

Were you saddened by Paul the Octopus’ death?

Nope! I was rooting for Germany and I didn’t find his choice for the final very patriotic!

Have you ever drawn with Chinese ink?

BAC STI Art Appliqués = all techniques used during school are pushed back and basically banned after you finish classes. Yes I have tested it before, but not in the best conditions!

Do you like mammals or other marine species?

I love sharks but they certainly make it hard to answer the question about diving below.

Have you been stung by a jellyfish?

Oh yeah but I won’t tell the story in details … the end of the story it goes something like “he didn’t know what happened to him, our hero fled like a coward to the beach, abandoning behind him – on a ridiculous little floating mattress – his girlfriend!” not very glorious …

Do you going diving or do you want to someday?

So yes sharks … I would love to go diving but at a depth of more than 2,5 meters, my brain starts thinking about this nice little species.

Sea or mountains?

Mountains! But ever since that story about René, I have always been terrified to go hiking. I am simply afraid to see a big fat groundhog singing something other than Britney.

What is your favourite region in France and why?

I should stay faithful to my region and answer: Lille/Roubaix/Tourcoing/Wambrechies… But lately I’ve been to Uzès in south of France and I liked it!
